Now BNP’s politics is also run on Awami League’s money: Hasnat Abdullah

DeskReport

Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee (NCP) in the south, said, “If the advisors think that apart from the trial of the Awami League and the trial of the murderers, they have any other major reforms, then you are wrong. The trial of the murderers is the main and first reform of this interim government. We want to see this reform first.”

The NCP leader made these remarks in his speech at the ‘July Rally in Honor of the Wounded, Martyred and Brave Children of Comilla’, a mass movement of students and the public organized at the Comilla District Shilpakala Academy this Friday evening.

Hasnat Abdullah also said, ‘We have been able to effectively ban the Awami League. But the donors of the Awami League, their financial system is still in place. Now in many places, the politics of the Awami League runs on Awami League money and the politics of the BNP also runs on Awami League money. The politics of many parties have now been sold to Awami League money.’

The NCP leader said, “Therefore, I would like to tell the interim government that they will never be able to conduct reform programs and elections properly while keeping their economic structure in order. If the Awami League has money from illegal earnings, it will not be able to conduct fair elections. For democracy, for Bangladesh and for the next Bangladesh, there will be discussions and disagreements among ourselves; but in no way can we give a chance to the Awami League, which is accused of genocide.”

Hasnat Abdullah further said, “You will clarify about the humanitarian corridor. We will not mortgage our country’s sovereignty and country to any superpower in any way. There will be no domination of any country here.”

Face the People Editor Saifur Rahman Sagar, Comilla South District BNP Convener Ashikur Rahman Mahmud Wasim, Joint Member Secretary Rifat Rashid, Joint Coordinator Tariqul Islam, Abu Baker Majumder, Comilla Metropolitan Branch Convener Abu Raihan, Member Secretary Muhammad Rashedul Hasan, District Branch Convener Shakib Hossain and leaders of various political parties spoke at the rally organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Comilla.
